Prior to outsourcing to CRS, I conducted the exit interviews myself, and after reviewing CRS’s interviews, I realize how much information we were missing by doing them in-house. ![]() We began using CRS for our heart check interviews (at a manager’s 6-month mark with the company) after seeing the excellent results they produced for exit interviews. Their heart check reports far surpass that which we were getting from our previous vendor. ![]() I’ve just finished reviewing the annual report and it was excellent. It’s amazing how many conclusions can be drawn from the exit interview data. We’ve made great headway in reducing our turnover since starting to partner with CRS on exit interviews in 2007. Last year we had our lowest management turnover in 5 years, and our hourly turnover is also on the decline. I like that CRS includes recommendations, and as a result of the data gather in the exit interviews, we’ve already instituted 3 major changes in our orientation/training, ongoing development, and communication. The information gathered in exit interviews has confirmed some of our thoughts about why certain programs have been successful and has been a catalyst to putting changes into place. I think outsourcing exit interviews also gives us a psychological win with ex-managers, to show them that even after they’ve left, we care about their thoughts and feedback.
